The sample photographs displayed on this website are small versions of 8-inch by 10-inch
photographs from the (to be) printed book. The book will contain at least one hundred color
photographs, in either landscape or portrait (page) orientation.
The printer uses 100-lb ultra-white paper stock for printing color photographs, and 120-lb
ultra-white glossy paper stock for book covers.
This color photography book may provide you with many insights into the art, culture, and history
of Crete. The same is true of the ancient Minoan civillization that was extant on Crete circa 2600
BCE through (about) 1150 BCE. Some of the imagery/artwork available in this pottery studio-shop is
identical to that discovered by archaeologists at the Palace of Knossos - the ancient capital of
the Minoan civilization (near Heraklion, Crete). Like their ancestors, many of the inhabitants of
Crete use locally produced fired-clay cooking vessels. Several Greek myths/legends are depicted
on various artwork.
This photography book allows the reader/viewer to "step inside" the local Crete culture seldom
seen by tourists. It is a treasure of photographs for those capable of "seeing" beyond a thirty-second
newsbyte.
